Tulsa, Oklahoma – Oklahoma State completed a season sweep of Oral Roberts Tuesday night as the 19th-ranked Cowboys posted a 12-4 victory at J.L. Johnson Stadium.

With the win, OSU improved to 27-14, while the Golden Eagles are now 14-26-1.

The Cowboys homered three times, and four different Pokes drove in multiple runs. Carson Benge led the way with a 2-for-6, four-RBI night.

OSU used five pitchers in the contest, with Brennan Phillips tossing four shutout innings and tying a career-best with seven strikeouts to earn the win in relief and move to 2-0. Starter Dominick Reid allowed two runs and struck out a pair in two innings.

The Pokes jumped out to an early lead in the first on Zach Ehrhard's eighth home run of the season, a two-run blast over the left field wall.

The Golden Eagles would rally to tie the score in the second, collecting four hits in the inning. Sam Thompson brought home the first run with a double before an RBI single from Martell Davis made the score 2-2.

The Pokes quickly regained the lead in the third. Benge added to his team leading doubles total with a two-RBI job to center field, and he later came home to score on a wild pitch to put OSU up 5-2.

The visitors weren't done as Ian Daugherty delivered his fourth homer in the last six games, a two-run shot off the foul pole in right field, to extend the lead to five. Three batters later, Kyler Proctor tallied an RBI single to make it 8-2.

OSU kept up its home run barrage with another two-run bomb, this one off the bat of Benge, to make the score 10-2 in the fourth. Benge's seventh of the season traveled 424 feet and caromed off the scoreboard in right-center field.

After ORU plated a pair of runs in the fourth, the Cowboys extended their lead again in the fifth, this time on a two-RBI single with the bases loaded by Nolan Schubart that made the score 12-4.

OSU returns to action Thursday when the Cowboys open a three-game series against Brigham Young University at O'Brate Stadium.

The Golden Eagles of Oral Roberts University will travel northward from April 26-28 to Brookings, taking on the South Dakota State Jackrabbits in a three-game series.
