UWSP softball enters back in win column with double-header sweep of UW-River Falls
WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. (WSAW) - Coming off a 3-2 loss to UW-Oshkosh on Wednesday, the Pointers brought in a pair of victories in a double header over UW-River Falls. In Game one, UW-Stevens Point was initially struggling vs. Falcons fifth-year pitcher Maggie Wallin, who struck out six of her first nine batters. Ultimately, the Pointers broke free with an RBI single from junior catcher Rachel Beker in the bottom of the fourth. The Pointers would pad on three more runs while blanking the Falcons 4-0, thanks in part to freshman pitcher Morgan Hardwood securing the win and sophomore pitcher Ashley Zygowski securing a save. Zygowski would break the school single-season saves record, now increased to 12.
