Popular gas station and convenience store breaking ground in Marathon Monday
MARATHON, Wis. (WSAW) - If you’ve taken 29 west through Marathon lately, you’re probably wondering what is being built right off the highway. Well, the wait is over to find out. It’s a Kwik Trip and groundbreaking will start on Monday. The new location is at the northeast corner of Hwy 29 and Hwy 107 right off exit 156. According to Public Relations for Kwik Trip, the store will be 9200 square feet. There will be 10 fuel pumps, three diesel pumps, and a truck stop, and it’s been a few years since Marathon had a grocery store, they’re hoping this location will help fill a void.
Stratford to host ‘Wisconsin Remembers’
May is Historic Preservation Month in Wisconsin, a time to celebrate the preservation of historic places. The Stratford Area Historical Society, Inc. (SAHS) is a not-for-profit organization formed in 1991 for the purpose of preserving and sharing knowledge about the history of the Stratford area. SAHS receives no operational funding from the Village of Stratford. SAHS relies on donations to operate the museum.

City kid shares dairy passion
COLBY, Wis. – As a city kid it would’ve been easy for Ella Raatz to choose a path outside agriculture. But the 17-year-old junior at Colby High School has developed a passion for the dairy industry. Recently she was recognized as one of eight finalists for Holstein USA’s Young Distinguished Junior Member award. The recognition honors youth ages 9 to 16 who demonstrate a working knowledge of the dairy industry, are role models and good spokespeople for the industry.

New airpacks at Boyd-Edson-Delmar

The one on the left is called a Rapid Intervention Pack and can hold 4,500 pounds of air. Marathon grad speaks at honors banquet
Two students, two teachers and a 2004 graduate of Marathon High School were honored at the annual Honoring Excellence in Education Banquet on April 24. Class of 2024 students Jorey Kunkel and Jacob Smith were honored alongside top students from all Marathon County high schools. Kunkel selected Luke Jacobson as his esteemed teacher, while Smith recognized Alaina Hulman for her profound impact on his education Andrea (Metz) Larson was the guest speaker at this year’s banquet, delivering an important message to the group about perseverance even when faced with failure.
