Pair arrested, accused of stealing more than $200k from an elderly man
Two people were arrested and charged after police say they stole over $200,000 from an 86-year-old man they were tasked with caring for. State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli, Rensselaer County District Attorney Mary Pat Donnelly and the New York State Police today announced Tuesday, the arrests of Amber Diacetis, 30, of Albany, and Devin Zielinski, 33, for allegedly stealing over $200,000 from an elderly victim.

A report from the National Weather Service was issued on Monday at 5:42 a.m. for dense fog until 9 a.m. for Albany, Rensselaer, Greene, Columbia, Ulster and Dutchess counties. "Patchy dense fog this morning will lead to reduced visibilities during the Monday morning commute and motorists are urged to allow extra travel time to arrive to their destinations this morning. Also motorists should allow extra distance between you and other vehicles as visibilities may drop suddenly. Fog should diminish by 8 to 9am this morning," according to the weather service.

Berkshire County Historical Society receives preservation grants
Pittsfield — The Berkshire County Historical Society (BCHS) has received a $10,000 historic-preservation grant from Preservation Massachusetts in association with the 1772 Foundation. In addition, BCHS has received a $15,000 grant from the Jane and Jack Fitzpatrick Trust. These grants will be used to replace lost historic louvered shutters to Herman Melville’s historic home, Arrowhead. Restoring these important architectural elements is in keeping with BCHS’s mission to preserve and interpret Arrowhead returning the house to its Melville-era (1850s–1860s) appearance.
