After permanently closing its Starke location a few years ago at 650 N Temple Avenue , Huddle House is looking to reopen in the same building.

The American chain restaurant has occupied that building for over a decade but has suffered from poor inspections and customer reviews, leading to its closure before the pandemic. Now, franchise owner Gregg Hansen has submitted a plan review application to the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation to reopen the restaurant in that same location. There’s no exact timeline for the reopening and it’s unclear if Hansen was the original owner when the restaurant was open.

When Huddle House returns to Starke, it will serve its all-American classics of breakfast, lunch, and dinner, cooked to order and served from the heart. This will be only the fifth Huddle House in northeast Florida, following sites in Lake City, Yulee, Palatka, and Middlesburg. The company recently reintroduced its French Toast Toppers, which started last month. In addition to its French Toast Toppers, Huddle House is set to launch its 60th-anniversary celebration with fresh creative branding. The company is reemphasizing its philosophical vision of “sharing that spirit of hometown togetherness” because “flavor, fun, and value always go hand in hand.”

“We’re thrilled to reintroduce our French Toast Toppers, especially as we celebrate our 60th Anniversary,” Jorge Pederzini , Vice President of Marketing for Huddle House, said in a press release. “We look forward to continuing that tradition of excellence, offering a delicious way to elevate your breakfast experience, ‘All Day, Your Way.’ With our refreshed brand messaging, Huddle House aims to solidify its status as the ultimate destination for fulfilling breakfasts tailored to every palate, and we’re proud to offer excellent value to our customers, available all day long.”
