Cadott Village Board - Fire department meter issue still undecided
Outgoing Cadott Village Board members Les Liptak (left) and Bart Chapek, were emotional April 15, when presented plaques for their many years of dedicated service to the community. The two decided not to run for re-election, instead, letting some new blood take a turn on the board. Liptak served 26 years as a trustee, while Chapek served 10 years.
Town of Thorp elects Louis Andruszkiewicz as chairman
A special meeting on April 25 was held at the current town hall by the Town of Thorp board members after the surprising resignation of former Chairman Jerry Jacks. After the board accepted the resignation of Jacks as of April 20th, Clerk Arlene Kodl nominated former Town of Thorp Chairman Louie Andruszkiewicz to the position of Chairman for the remainder of Jacks’s term until April 2025 and Supervisors Andy Slowiak and Bob Kodl voted in agreement. Andruszkiewicz had previously served as the Chairman for the Town of Thorp from 2015 to 2022. Andruszkiewicz accepted the nomination and stood, raising his right hand as he was sworn in to his “new” position.

MADISON — Federal jurors last week awarded a former Eau Claire man $550,000 for an unlawful traffic stop by an Eau Claire police officer and malicious prosecution by the Eau Claire County District Attorney’s office. Sidney L. Coleman, now of Birmingham, Ala., represented himself in 2 1/2-day trial after which jurors awarded him $50,000 for an unlawful traffic stop, $400,000 for malicious prosecution and $100,000 in punitive damages for malicious prosecution. ...
