Crash closes Interstate 485 in Charlotte on Saturday, NCDOT says
A crash closed Interstate 485 Outer near Rocky River Road exit 36 on Saturday, state highway officials said. All lanes are closed , Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said on social media site X just before 5 p.m. “Please seek alternate routes,” police said. The crash happened at 4:30 p.m. near Rocky River Road exit 36, according to DriveNC.gov, the state’s real-time traffic information site. MEDIC reported taking a person who had minor injuries to a hospital. Highway officials haven’t said how long the interstate will remain closed, and police haven’t said what caused the crash or how many vehicles are involved. Coastal Storm and Snow Talk Grows for Atlanta, Charlotte, Raleigh and the Mid Atlantic as AI Models Show a Deep Upper Low, but Forecasters Warn It Is Too Early
CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA — Talk of a possible East Coast storm, and even snow, is spreading online as forecast models show a powerful system near the Southeast around Friday night into Saturday, November 13 and 14. The European AI model (AIFS) shows a deep upper-level low centered near north Georgia and the western Carolinas. Several of its runs also show low pressure forming along the Mid-Atlantic or Carolina coast. Forecasters say people should not buy the “snow dump” forecasts circulating on social media yet. The storm is still about a week away, and the model runs disagree on where the low will track and how strong it will be. The best advice for now is to keep monitoring.

Albemarle Neighbor: Bowman turns late-night baking into Edenton home business
In Edenton, Ashley Bowman spends her nights mixing up batches of sweets for her Take It EZ Home Bakery. “I’ve always liked to cook,” Bowman said. “This is what I do for fun.” Bowman, a pharmacy operations manager at the Walgreens in Edenton, started the home bakery more than a year ago. She named it after the initials of her sons, Eason and Zane. She does her baking at night, after her family has gone to sleep, filling the house with the aroma of desserts in the oven. Bowman makes a variety of cinnamon rolls, including cookies and cream, a favorite of one of her sons. She also makes pound cakes, but cake pops are among her most popular items. She can make them in a range of cake flavors and customize them for special occasions, including themed cake pops for children’s birthdays and school-themed ones that have become popular teacher gifts. Bowman said she was inspired to bake by her grandmother, who died three years ago. “She would dip everything in chocolate during Christmas,” Bowman said.
