Solar storm brings northern lights to the Carolinas
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — An unusually strong solar storm that's hitting Earth has produced northern lights in the U.S., visible in the Carolinas. WCNC Charlotte's camera network captured views of the lights Friday from Monroe, Dallas and Concord, the sky lit in greenish-pink hues. Chief meteorologist Brad Panovich commented that in his time living in Charlotte, he hadn't seen the lights in the sky here.
