Man charged with trafficking drugs after allegedly throwing meth over prison fence
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ) A Christian County man was charged on Tuesday after authorities claim he threw about 64.2 grams of methamphetamine over a fence on March 30 at Algoa Correctional Center in Jefferson City. Lucas Robertson, of Oldfield, Missouri, was charged with first-degree drug trafficking and having a weapon at a correctional center. Isabella man charged with stealing backhoe
On April 23, Jerald Smith, of Isabella, was arraigned on a class D felony charge of stealing ($750 or more) and ordered to return to court at 9 a.m. June 11 for a criminal setting. The charges are in connection with allegations that Smith took a tractor that did not belong to him.
Dozens of emergency responders conduct 5-day search for drowning victim at Warren Bridge
Photo submitted Ozark County and statewide emergency responders spent five days searching the flooded waters of Bryant Creek at Warren Bridge last week looking for Pottersville resident Brian Richardson, who had driven off the bridge during flooded conditions sometime around midnight April 29. The responders recovered his truck and pulled it from the water the Tuesday around noon, as shown in this photo. Richardson’s body was found in Bryant Creek Saturday.
Noel Cole sentenced to 4 years in prison for resisting arrest, assault
Noel Cole, 48, of Theodosia, pleaded guilty pursuant to a plea agreement with the state in multiple cases April 3 before Circuit Judge Craig Carter. In one case, Cole pleaded guilty to felony resisting or interfering with an arrest for a felony. In another case, he pleaded guilty to the amended misdemeanor charge of fourth-degree assault and another felony resisting arrest charge. In the third and fourth cases, he pleaded guilty to failing to appear in court for a scheduled trial.

Municipal water/sewer customers can expect extra DNR fee in April
Every year in April, all water and sewer systems in the state of Missouri are required to collect a fee for the Department of Natural Resources. This fee, called a primacy fee, is for water customers, and a DNR fee is also charged for sewer customers. The fees are used to support DNR's efforts to insure safe drinking water. Upon collecting the fee, municipalities send all of the money from the fee directly to DNR.
