Ozark Police Department Launches Paid Training Program for Local Residents Seeking Law Enforcement Careers
The Ozark Police Department (OPD) in Missouri is initiating a hiring campaign that includes paid academy training for new recruits. The goal is to attract candidates by removing the financial and time constraints of police academy attendance. Recruits will earn $18.54 an hour during their training at the Law Enforcement Academy at Drury University, which increases to $23.31 an hour after graduation. The 750-hour training program starts in June, and recruits must agree to a two- or three-year training contract with the department.
