Man drowns at Bull Shoals
The Missouri State Highway Patrol Water Patrol Division has confirmed the identity of a man that drowned in Bull Shoals Lake Tuesday, May 7. Larry Dilday, 75, of Forsyth was fishing from the bank and fell into the water near the mouth of Swan Creek. Dilday was pronounced deceased on the scene at 2:44 p.m. when authorities arrived.

Few power outages remain in the wake of overnight storms
UPDATE 5/9/2024: Only a handful of electric cooperative customers remain without power this morning after powerful storms made their way through the Ozarks. The customers affected are in Texas, Douglas, Lawrence, Barry, Shannon and Newton counties. Award winning artist
Dora High School student Natasha Slavik was named one of the top 20 artists in the Missouri Congressional Art Competition for her striking black and white works. She was also the best in show winner in the Dora School art show with her piece titled “Eye of the Tiger,” and first place for her drawing of a zebra (below, center). Because she was a winner in the statewide art show, Slavik was invited by Congressman Jason Smith to attend an exclusive art reception at the Missouri State Capitol May 2. Her piece was honored as one of the top three pieces at the state show.
