SPRINGDALE, AR–The Springfield Cardinals won the first game of their double header, 6-3, but lost the nightcap, 1-0, to earn a split with the Northwest Arkansas Naturals on Thursday.

The Cardinals manufactured their runs across three innings in the first contest. They scored one in the 1st, two in the 2nd, and three in the 5th – all 6 runs were driven in with 2 outs in the inning.

So far, Springfield has scored 10 runs over the first three games in the series, and all 10 runs have been plated when they were down to their last out in a frame.

The split decision moved the baby birds to 5-3 in double headers this season.

With an overall record of 19-10, the Cardinals lead the Texas League North Division by three games, and have the second best record in the Texas League.
