All library services, including book returns in the library parking lot, will be closed during construction. Storytimes and book discussions will be moved to Fairbanks (1126 N. Broadway Ave.). The Community Fridge will be temporarily relocated to the Library Station (2535 N. Kansas Expy.), and the Computer Training Center will move to the Library Center (4653 S. Campbell Ave.).

Midtown Carnegie staff will be relocated to other branches until renovations are complete.

The north entry (near the parking lot) will be upgraded to provide ramps for accessibility, giving direct access to the main floor and the Library’s Maker Space and Computer Training Center in the basement.

The branch’s elevator will also be repaired to provide access to all floors. Upgrades will also be made to the HVAC and plumbing to help improve efficiency.

Parents of Central High School students will need to make alternate arrangements if their teens visit the branch after school.

Dake Wells Architecture designed the new entry addition and Crossland Construction will do the renovation work.
