Officer Prosperi was injured in January during a domestic disturbance in Wilbraham, where he was shot by the assailant. After nearly a month-long hospitalization, he continues his recovery, expecting further medical procedures.

On April 26th, members of the Springfield Police Hockey team, including retired Superintendent Cheryl Clapprood, gathered with Officer Prosperi at the Wilbraham Police Department to extend their support.

The Hockey for Heroes Foundation contributed $2,000 towards Prosperi’s medical expenses and presented him with a Hockey for Heroes Foundation shirt, hat, and personalized jersey. Their gesture aims to bolster Prosperi’s spirits during his recovery journey.

“We wish Cam the best in his recovery and hope this small token of appreciation can help him along the way!” expressed the Hockey for Heroes Foundation.

The Hockey for Heroes Foundation, registered as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is dedicated to assisting first responders who have sustained serious injuries or lost their lives in the line of duty.
