    Prep spotlight: Chatham Glenwood goes undefeated in CS8, and other results from Tuesday

    Here are the high school baseball and softball regular season results from around Springfield for Monday and Tuesday:

    Tuesday's results

    BASEBALL

    CHATHAM GLENWOOD 8, LINCOLN 0: At Chatham, pitchers Caleb Chamberlain and Ryan Dunbar combined to throw a three-hit shutout and the Titans wrapped up the Central State Eight Conference unblemished at 10-0.

    Chamberlain earned the win and struck out five, walked four and gave up three hits in five innings of work. Dunbar fanned one and walked one in two hitless innings.

    Glenwood ended with 13 hits, getting two hits apiece from Mason Marshall, Cam Appenzeller and Jace Easley. Marshall had a pair of singles that drove in three runs, and Appenzeller had a run-scoring double.

    JACKSONVILLE 5, SPRINGFIELD HIGH 0: At Robin Roberts Stadium, winning pitcher Ryan Luconic pitched 6 1/3 strong innings and the Crimsons blanked the Senators in the Central State Eight Conference.

    Luconic struck out nine, walked none and yielded three hits. Jacksonville got a run in the first inning on a Brandon Sims RBI single. The Crimsons plated three more runs in the fourth on a two-run double by Luconic and a run-scoring single by Cy Kershaw.

    Anderson Decker, who threw two-thirds of an inning in relief, singled in a run in the sixth to complete the scoring.

    PANA 5, NOKOMIS 4: At Pana, Ryan Karbach grounded out into a fielder’s choice and the Panthers rallied with three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to win on a walk-off in a regular season game.

    Pana trailed 4-2 in the seventh and tied the game when Eli Lindsay and Dane Epley both walked with the bases loaded.

    Brenton Lyons and Izaak Doyen each went 2-for-4 and drove in two runs apiece for Nokomis.

    SOFTBALL

    ROCHESTER 8, JACKSONVILLE 1: At Rochester, Jaelyn Watts and Mylie Deatherage combined on a one-hitter and the Rockets won a Central State Eight Conference game.

    Eleanor Schudel went 2-for-3 with a double and scored three runs and Samantha Gleckler had a pair of hits, doubled and drove in a run for Rochester. Bella Parness finished with a base hit and two RBIs.

    Watts (14-2) worked four scoreless innings to earn the win, allowing one hit. She struck out six and walked none. Deatherage gave up one earned run without a hit, fanned two and walked four in three innings. The Rockets improved to 21-7 overall and 7-3 in the CS8.

    Maggie Gerard had the one hit for Jacksonville.

    Monday's results

    SOFTBALL

    GILLESPIE 1, PLEASANT HILL 0: At Gillespie, Macie Wright furnished the go-ahead RBI single in the fourth, scoring Sadie Sholtis, and the Miners recorded a nonconference win.

    Emma Gipson won the pitchers’ duel against Pleasant Hill’s McKinley Lowe. Gipson struck out 11 and allowed just three hits and two walks.

    Lowe also fanned 11 gave up one run on four hits and two walks.

    SPRINGFIELD HIGH 2, PEORIA RICHWOODS 0 (4 innings): At UIS, Mia Volpert totaled 10 strikeouts and gave up just two walks with no hits in a rain-shortened game.

    Volpert and Kendall Knauer each had a hit and scored a run for the Senators.

    LINCOLN 7, BLOOMINGTON 6: At Lincoln, Taryn Stoltzenburg and Regan Kutz each doled out three hits in the nonconference win.

    Stoltzenburg, Kutz and Norah Block each had a double. Stoltzenburg scored three runs in the leadoff spot. Grey Gilbert added two hits and two runs.

    Madisen Wurth picked up the win with 10 strikeouts.

    BASEBALL

    PLEASANT PLAINS 4, CHATHAM GLENWOOD 3: At Plains, the host Cardinals scored all of their runs in the third frame to eke out a nonconference win.

    That included a 2-RBI double by Zach Ponce. Cooper Schallenberg had two hits with an RBI and a run. Cole Hatcher tallied the win in a complete game. He ceded three runs on three hits and six walks with two strikeouts.

    Dylan Huff took the loss in four innings. He gave up four runs on five hits with five strikeouts.

    LINCOLN 1, WILLIAMSVILLE 0: At Lincoln. Michael Lucas delivered the walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the seventh and chalked up two of the team’s three hits in the nonconference win.

    Colbie Glenn earned the win with three strikeouts in 2 1/3 innings. Braylon Singer took the loss for Williamsville in 6 1/3 innings. He had six strikeouts.
