A Springfield man who worked at a Sherman child development center was arrested on April 20 for production of child pornography.

Nigel L. Tiller, 29, had originally been suspected of possible child abuse at All His Children Developmental Center, 700 S. Sherman Blvd., last week.

That led to Sherman police and Illinois Department of Children and Family Services beginning investigations, said Sherman Police Chief Craig Bangert.

On April 19, evidence was secured that led to the issuance of search warrants. After the collection of additional items of potential evidence and suspect interviews, Tiller was arrested.

Tiller also faces four counts of possession of child pornography.

Bangert said additional charges may follow.

Williamsville and Springfield Police departments are assisting Sherman Police. The Illinois Office of the Attorney General, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the Sangamon County Child Advocacy Center are also pursuing investigative leads.
