SPOKANE, Wash. -- A man and woman were robbed and pepper sprayed by multiple suspects near Riverfront Park Tuesday night.

Spokane Police located four suspects and arrested them, 18-year-old Jaeshon Farmer, 23-year-old Chase Wilson, 26-year-old Rashaud Lightner, and a fourth person.

Farmer, Wilson and Lightner appeared in court on charges of first-degree robbery Wednesday.

The fourth suspect is a minor and was booked into the Spokane County Juvenile Detention Center for first degree armed robbery, obstruction of a law enforcement officer, and minor in possession of liquor.

According to the affidavit of facts filed in Spokane court, a man pulled $100 out of the Wheatland Bank ATM on Spokane Falls Boulevard and Howard Street around 6:30 p.m.

The man reported six males wearing sweatshirts and masks chased him back to his car saying something similar to, "give me money". The docs say the suspects forced the driver door open and sprayed bear spray inside hitting the man and the woman in the passenger seat. They also took the $100 in twenties.

The court docs say officers responded to the area and saw the suspects, but they ran in different directions.

During the chase, officers say one of the suspects threw a backpack into the river. Officers recovered it and say it had bear spray inside and a birth certificate for Jaeshon Farmer.

While the suspects were detained, investigators say the female victim identified each with 100% certainty that they played a role in the robbery.

Farmer, Wilson, and Lightner are all being held on $25,000 bond.
