GREECE, N.Y. (WROC) — Connor Osier pitched five strong innings to go along with ten strikeouts to help lead Athena to a 3-2 win over Spencerport.

In the top of the second inning, Shaun Cannon scored off a passed ball to give Spencerport an early 1-0 lead. Athena answered in the bottom half after Jacob Sova crossed the plate on a fielder’s choice.

The score would remain that way until the fifth when Athena’s Sammy Saucke’s sac-fly to deep center brought home Ryan Grasley. In the sixth, Cannon tied the game back up off a RBI single to make it 2-2.

With the game tied at two in the bottom of the seventh inning and down to their final, Alex scored the game winning run on a wild pitch.

Osier allowed just one hit on the mound and also hit a triple. The senior is committed to play baseball at the University of Houston.

Athena (8-4) and Spencerport (8-5) are slated to play again on Wednesday, May 1st.
