    Sparta Girls Lacrosse Gets the Better of Jefferson

    Sparta High School girls lacrosse Uma Kowalski has more than 50 goals so far this season

    SPARTA, NJ – Sparta girls lacrosse beat Jefferson on Monday 17-9.  Uma Kowalski once again led the Spartan charge with five goals and an assist. She currently has 52 goals for this season and 252 in her three year varsity career.

    Joey Roque put up four points.  Moira Sweeney added three with three assists.  Catherine Siipola scored twice.  Emily Rena, Ava Capeci and Grace Johnson each netted one.

    Brooke Weyant had two assists against the Falcons.

    Keara Hynes was in net for the Spartans stopping six Falcon shots.

    The girls record is 9-2.  With the number two seed, Sparta has earned a free pass to the quarterfinal round of the Hunterdon/Warren/Sussex tournament.  They will host seventh seed Phillipsburg on Saturday beginning at 4 p.m.
