Mill Creek Annexation Could Add 11,700 Residents, but One Leader Smells a 'Sugar High'
Mill Creek is moving toward its biggest expansion in nearly two decades, after the City Council voted 6-0, with one abstention, to authorize staff to begin working with Snohomish County and the state Boundary Review Board on a plan that could add an estimated 11,700 residents south of the city. KIRO host Gee Scott wants to know why the government can penalize residents for missing deadlines while taking months to deliver the approvals those same taxpayers need. The question came as KIRO host Ursula Reutin raised permitting delays as a contributor to western Washington’s housing costs on “The Gee and Ursula Show” on KIRO Newsradio.
