SOUTH WINDSOR, Conn. (WTNH) – Connecticut State Police (CSP) officials say two men were arrested in South Windsor over the weekend after a crash led to the multiple weapons charges, including possession of a machine gun.
Jamal Clark, 22, and Charles Brown, 26, both of Springfield, Massachusetts were held on a million dollar cash/surety bond after being arrested Friday.
East Haven man charged with sexual assault, police say They were both transferred to the Department of Correction pending their arraignment, which is scheduled for March 25 at Manchester Superior Court.
CSP said troopers responded to reports of a collision Friday near exit 4 of I-291 eastbound, where two people were seen fleeing from a crashed Dodge Durango- which was found in the left lane with its front wheels stuck on the end of a guardrail.
A witness reported one of the individuals seemed to be carrying a bag while fleeing, and both appeared to be looking inside a dumpster at a gas station near the exit ramp.

Two K-9s found additional firearms in the area the suspects were seen- including an M4, 5.56 caliber rifle with a 30-round magazine, and a black Glock .40 caliber handgun with a 24-round magazine.
Both suspects were detained on scene.

- C.G.S. 29-38 (4 Counts), Illegal Possession of a Weapon in a Motor Vehicle
- C.G.S. 53-206 (4 Counts), Carrying a Dangerous Weapon
- C.G.S. 53a-167a, Interfering with a Police Officer
- C.G.S. 53a-217 (2 Counts), Criminal Possession of a Firearm
- C.G.S. 53a-202c (2 Counts), Possession of a Machine Gun
- C.G.S. 53-202x (2 Counts), Possession of a Large Capacity Magazine
- C.G.S. 14-224, Evading Responsibility
- C.G.S. 14-236, Failure to Maintain Proper Lane
South Windsor Police arrest man accused of evading traffic stop, driving 100 mph Brown was charged with:
- C.G.S. 29-38 (4 Counts), Illegal Possession of a Weapon in a Motor Vehicle
- C.G.S. 53-206 (4 Counts), Carrying a Dangerous Weapon
- C.G.S. 53a-217 (2 Counts). Criminal Possession of a Firearm
- C.G.S. 53a-202c (2 Counts), Possession of a Machine Gun
- C.G.S. 53-202x (2 Counts), Possession of a Large Capacity Magazine
South Windsor Police and East Hartford Police assisted in the investigation.
