Warsaw Community Schools Celebrates First Graduates Of 2024
On Wednesday evening, Warsaw Community Schools (WCS) celebrated the first graduates of 2024 in a graduation ceremony. The event honored the achievements of track and field state qualifiers: Joey Rastrelli, Talan Asay, Blake Keene, Gabe Klein, Matt Marsh, Andrew Potter and Tyler Swartz, who will be competing at the IHSAA state finals and unable to attend the scheduled WCHS commencement ceremony on Friday, May 31.
National Championship Caps Season Of Chess For WCS
The 2024 chess season at Warsaw Community Schools will go down in the record books. On Jan. 20, Warsaw Community Schools hosted the Indiana State Individual Scholastic Chess Regional. Over 120 young players from across northern Indiana came to Warsaw to try and qualify for the state final in Indianapolis. Several players from Warsaw qualified for the state final and competed at the event. Fareed Sultan Mohammed, a chess player from Washington STEM Academy, won state champion at the event in the upper elementary junior varsity division, according to a press release from coach Jay Bolduc.
