    Around 300 motorcycles to ride through Sergeant Bluff, South Sioux City

    SERGEANT BLUFF, Iowa (KCAU) — The “Thunder on the Missouri” ride will be taking over the streets of Sergeant Bluff and South Sioux City with about 300 motorcycles in honor of fallen veterans.

    The ride will be on Sunday, May 26, the day before Memorial Day. It is free and open to all vehicles.

    Organizers announce date of 2024 Mardi Gras Parade in Sioux City

    Riders will first congregate at the American Legion Post 662 in Sergeant Bluff at noon on Sunday, May 26. Then, at about 2 p.m., they will head north on South Lewis Boulevard, turn onto 1st Street, and then exit onto Interstate 29 on their way to South Sioux City, according to the City of Sergeant Bluff . This will temporarily interrupt traffic flow.

    After regrouping and “flagging up” at South Sioux City High School, the riders will head to Siouxland Freedom Park. Here, at about 2:30 p.m., there will be a remembrance ceremony open to the public.

    This is the 10th annual Thunder on the Missouri ride. Last year, over 200 bikers hit the road .
