Seaquarium now reportedly in compliance with all federal animal safety regulations
Apparently, as they say, the proof is in the pudding. Or, in this case, the Miami Seaquarium. After months of warnings from Miami-Dade County and legal threats from both sides, Miami Seaquarium officials say they have completely complied with all past issues reported by the U.S. Department of Agriculture inspection teams.
Excessive Heat Takes Toll On Shelter Pets In Miami-Dade
Another record-breaking heat day in South Florida with highs today in the mid-90's and heat index values making it feel like it's over one hundred degrees. Flora Beal with Miami-Dade animal services says they're taking steps to keep pets cool at their overflow facility in Medley. She says they have been putting ice in the water, using inflatable pools and fans and only walking dogs for about ten minutes in the morning and when the sun goes down at night. Pets are also being monitored for heavy breathing.
