CRANBERRY TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A Tionesta woman was charged for allegedly stealing over $500 worth of items from Walmart in Cranberry Township. According to court documents, Franklin-based State Police filed criminal charges against 28-year-old Destiny Nichole Altman, of Tionesta, in District Judge Patrick E. Lowrey’s office on April 24.
Crews contain leak from sunken boat in Ohio River
A boat sunk in the Ohio River near Pittsburgh’s Marshall-Shadeland neighborhood Friday. The boat sunk near the old site of SCI Pittsburgh, better known as Western Penitentiary, at around 12:30 p.m. Reports indicated the boat was leaking some type of oil or fuel. Fire crews both on land and on the water with the fire boat worked to contain the spill. Pittsburgh Public Safety officials confirmed the boat produced a small fuel leak. HazMat deployed a boom and materials to help contain it.

Motorcycle driver dies in crash near UPMC Mercy
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A motorcycle driver has died following a late-night crash near UPMC Mercy Hospital last night along the Boulevard of the Allies. Pittsburgh Police say that the crash involved the motorcycle and another vehicle.Medics at the scene performed CPR on the motorcycle, but the man, later identified as 33-year-old Donte Hairston, died at the hospital. The driver of the other vehicle refused medical attention.A second vehicle was also hit during the crash but no one was hurt.The Collision Investigation Unit is handling the investigation into the crash.

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — The man who last saw a Pittsburgh-area woman who is missing and presumed dead is accused of stealing her identity. Last week, the Susquehanna Township Police Department in central Pennsylvania said Tracy Scanlon's missing person case became a homicide investigation. On Thursday CBS 21 reported that Anthony Proctor was charged with forgery, identity theft and access device fraud in connection with using Scanlon's state benefits card. The TV station reported, citing police, that Proctor was the last person to see Scanlon, also known as Tracy Zalenski. Multiple homes catch fire in Avalon
AVALON, Pa. (KDKA) -- Multiple homes caught fire early Friday morning in Avalon Borough. The fire broke out just after 5:00 this morning along McKinley Avenue.Multiple fire crews were called out to battle the flames that spread to multiple nearby homes."To see how big this was, it was certainly a shock," said Kace Nelson, a man who lives nearby. "I certainly hope nobody was in the house."Avalon Police Chief Tom Kokoski spoke with KDKA and said that one of his officers was injured while responding to the fire, but he's expected to be okay.Chief Kokoski said that crews are searching for the occupant of the home. PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — A man faces charges after a car meet-up took over streets and blocked an intersection in Downtown Pittsburgh the night before the Pittsburgh Marathon. The large car meet-up took over the busy intersection of Stanwix Street, Forbes Avenue and Liberty Avenue on May 4. Right away, police officers showed up, and now Jason Stotlemyer of Bridgeville faces felony charges. He's already facing charges in connection with a car meet that shut down the Fort Pitt Bridge in August. Police said he hit a Pennsylvania State Police cruiser.
