Papillion memorial honors USS Frank E. Evans sailors, 80 Years After D-Day
PAPILLION, Neb. — June 6 marks a day of remembrance for D-Day, an event etched in history 80 years ago when the U.S. military stormed the beaches of Normandy in France. The Nebraska Vietnam Veterans Memorial Foundation is also paying tribute to honor the 74 lives lost while serving on the USS Frank E. Evans, a Sumner-class Navy destroyer.
