Request For Alcohol License In Mentone Tabled For ‘Further Investigation’
Not only was it unclear if the location where Robert T. Carter wants to establish a bar in Mentone even qualifies, but his past history with escrowing permits and remonstrating against others seeking alcohol licenses in the town led the Kosciusko County Alcohol Tobacco Commission to table his application Thursday until their April 2 meeting for “further investigation.”

This Indiana Amish Buffet Is A Comfort Food Paradise Worth Traveling For
Forget everything you thought you knew about buffets. In Indiana, I stumbled into a wonderland of Amish cooking that didn’t just fill your plate. It hugged your soul. Golden cornbread straight from the oven, mashed potatoes whipped to cloud-level fluffiness, and gravy that could probably convince a skeptic to rethink life choices. Each dish felt like it had been simmering with intention, patience, and a quiet sort of magic that only happens when someone truly loves food.

Hop Station brings unique craft beers to Mishawaka bar scene
MISHAWAKA — Casey Stuber and his brother DJ once found themselves deep into the craft beer scene in the U.S. and spent their free time visiting different breweries to try unique beers with different hops, fruits and fermenting. “The atmosphere they had, everybody was always chill and relaxed [and they] had great food. It was just more of us,” Stuber says. “We just liked the vibe over a normal corner bar.” Growing up in Edwardsburg, Stuber and his family visited Mishawaka often, so it felt natural that when he and his brother decided to open a bar with a focus on craft beer, it would exist in Mishawaka. Hop Station came to fruition after the opportunity to acquire their current building at 318 Union St. arose. Since opening in 2019, the “punk rock”-adjacent bar has introduced over 200 beers to customers while still selling well-loved domestic options as well, Stuber says. Neon signs of local and nationwide breweries light up the bar that is filled with "Star Wars" memorabilia from Stuber and his brother’s childhood. Whether a customer walks in as a beer enjoyer or beer hater, Stuber says he is confident Hop Station has something for everyone. “I will
