New Kensington man charged in high-speed turnpike chase in Somerset County
A New Kensington man was among three people arrested by state police Monday after leading them on a high-speed chase in Somerset County that at one point reached 120 mph. Pharoah Sewell, 20, of New Kensington was charged along with Davontae Clayton, 19, of Belle Vernon and Quamarry Curry of Uniontown with felony weapons violations, receiving stolen property, evidence tampering and drug possession.

President of the Flood City Fraternal Order of Police lodge #86 Dan Zakraysek said some of his members told him the conditions of the public safety building are poor. “The conditions are deplorable to say the least,” Zakraysek said. “There's dirt and what appears to be mold coming out of the vents. Several of our officers have required medical treatment. Two of them have required surgery for sinus issues.”
