Somerset man arrested on several charges after deputies find him hiding in crawl space

SOMERSET, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — A Somerset man has been arrested on multiple charges after sheriff deputies reportedly found him hiding in a crawl space.

On April 7, the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office said they received a report that Codie Marcum, 32, had forcibly entered a home with a gun and threatened to shoot if they didn’t comply. The victims told police that Marcum reportedly stole property from them before assaulting them and refusing to let them leave.

Around 3 p.m. on April 8, the sheriff’s office said deputies arrived at Marcum’s home on Jasper Street. When searching the home, deputies found Marcum hiding in a basement crawlspace, as well as guns, narcotics, and drug paraphernalia.

According to the sheriff’s office, Marcum was arrested and charged with robbery, kidnapping, assault, terroristic threatening, trafficking a controlled substance (methamphetamine), drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was also charged on a previous warrant with the following charges:

  • Burglary
  • Unlawful imprisonment
  • Assault
  • Terroristic threatening

Marcum was lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center. He’s due in court for a preliminary hearing on Wednesday.
