Northwood/Solon Springs throttles Bruce Red Raiders

MINONG — The Northwood/Solon Springs baseball team hosted Bruce on Thursday, April 25, ripping the Red Raiders 11-1. The win kept Northwood/Solon Springs unbeaten at 5-0 atop the Lakeland East Conference. Currently, they are 7-0 overall.

Abraham Ahlberg blasted a long home run early in the game to set the pace for the Evergreens.

Getting doubles in the game were Ahlberg and Jared Schultz. Evergreens with stolen bases included Ahlberg, Alex Slivensky, Dylan Taggert, Blaise Kidder and Schultz.

Evergreens getting RBIs in the contest were Slivensky (3), Ahlberg (3), Schultz (2), Jaxson Link and Gunnar Golembiewski.

Schultz pitched the win for Northwood/Solon Springs, going 6 innings, allowing 5 hits, 1 run and striking out 11.

On Thursday, May 2, Northwood/Solon Springs will play on the road when they travel to face Cornell/Lake Holcombe.
