Humane Society spruces up, prepares for ribbon cutting
NEWPORT — A facelift of sorts is under way at the Carteret County Humane Society (CCHS) Animal Shelter on Hibbs Road. From installing a “catio,” which is an outdoor aerial catwalk, to painting and installing new fencing, the nonprofit animal shelter is holding a ribbon cutting 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. on June 5 to showcase some of the improvements. The Carteret County Chamber of Commerce is hosting the event.
