Marysville Car Show to mark city’s 100th anniversary
The Blue Water Region Antique Automobile Club of America and the Wills Sainte Claire Automobile Museum are gearing up to host the 31st annual Marysville Car Show on June 9. The show will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Marysville Park. Cars can start parking at 8 a.m. This year, the show will honor Corvette and celebrate Marysville’s 100th anniversary. It is open to vehicles of any age and type, including motorcycles, and proceeds will go to fund the nonprofit 501c3 Wills Sainte Claire Automobile Museum.
Fatal crash case heads to trial after defendant rejects plea deal
A plea deal for a man accused of killing another driver in a 2022 crash fell apart Wednesday when he refused to allow a judge to review his psychological evaluation. The deal would have had Joshua Collier, a 34-year-old East China Township man, plead "guilty, but mentally ill" to operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing death and a moving violation causing serious impairment of bodily function, a misdemeanor. In exchange, the St. Clair County Prosecutor's Office would drop two other charges, operating while intoxicated causing serious injury and a moving violation causing death.

St. Clair County issues swimming advisory for Holland, Keewahdin beaches
The St. Clair County Health Department has issued swimming advisories for Holland Beach in Port Huron and Keewahdin Beach in Fort Gratiot Township. The beaches have been closed due to the elevated presence of E. coli, officials said in a news release Thursday morning. Water samples will be collected at the beaches until E. coli test results are within the acceptable water quality range as advised by the state of Michigan.
