NY life insurance company to lay off 25% of its employees: What we know
A new layoff will affect 70 employees of Columbian Life Insurance Company in the Binghamton and Syracuse area. In a press release, the company said it would lay off 25% of its employees due to a "previously disclosed strategic transaction not being consummated." Four teenage boys are charged with criminal possession of stolen property and resisting arrest after a manhunt in New York’s North Country. A car with long guns inside it was stolen Friday afternoon in Berkshire, New York, in the Empire State’s Southern Tier region. Police chased it for nearly 250 miles to Franklin County; it got stuck in a field in Burke Friday evening. New York State Police asked for help finding two teens who ran from the stuck car — Jaden Labare, 17, of Plattsburgh and Devan Bell, 16, of Buffalo. They were caught Saturday morning at a camp in Burke, north of Route 11.
