SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Local high school football players participated in a combine to this past weekend to showcase their skills for several area colleges.

More than 100 players from six different states attended the Bauer’s Elite Training combine on Saturday evening. Coaches from 20 colleges throughout the upper Midwest watched the players run numerous drills. In addition to the workout, the players and coaches chatted, which helped to foster relationships along the recruiting process, serving as a crucial part in playing at the next level.

“This is really a chance for them to separate themselves, separate themselves from the competition and kind of level up on the on each of the program’s recruiting board here,” Bauer’s Elite co-founder Boston Bauer said.

“It’s a big opportunity for us to help get these kids recruited. That’s what this is all about. It’s getting these kids recruited. Get them to the next level. A lot of our coaches have been to the next level. So we know the process and what it takes to get there,” Bauer’s Elite co-founder Canyon Bauer said.

Bauer’s Elite started about three years ago and is also fielding three 7-on-7 teams this spring.
