Sioux Falls East Sweeps Post 8 Still in Search of First Win
One of the top teams in the state, Sioux Falls East would sweep Post 8 in Sioux Falls on Tuesday with an 11-2 win in game one and then 5-4 in game two. Pierre would give up a seven run bottom of the fourth after trailing just 1-0 through three innings as East would pull away with the game one win. Matt Hanson would hit an RBI double and Jonny Lyons a sacrifice fly to score both of the Eights runs in the top of the fifth. The Eights allowed another 16 free passes with 13 walks and three hit batters as East only needed five hits for the win.

Augustana Falls to Southern New Hampshire to Bow out of Division II World Series
The Augustana Vikings would drop both of its games at the Division II World Series as they would fall to Southern New Hampshire Tuesday afternoon, 10-6. After giving up the lead in the bottom of the eighth in game one of the tournament, Augustana was behind the eight ball to start the game as Southern New Hampshire would take a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Drey Dirksen would drive in the games first run for the Vikings in the bottom of the first to make it 2-1 before hitting a sac fly to tie the game at 2-2 in the third. However, New Hampshire would get three runs in the fifth to take a 5-2 lead, but it was Dirksen again, this time homering on a two run shot to make it 5-4 as he drove in the first four runs of the game for the Vikings. Southern New Hampshire would add runs in the sixth, seventh and eighth to make the deficit too much to over come for Augustana. Jack Hines and Tate Meiners would each have an RBI to close out the season as Augustana goes 0-2 at World Series.
Local golfers raise nearly $70k for Junior Achievement
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - Dakota News Now Sports Director Mark Ovenden was among the group of golfers who helped raise nearly $70,000 for Junior Achievement. On Monday, The 25th annual Junior Achievement 100-Hole Challenge took place at the Brandon Municipal Golf Course. The 18 golfers played at least 100 holes, and the funds benefit the JA experiences during the 2024-2025 school year.
