Water main break leaves campus buildings without water for hours
Five campus buildings were left without water, and a portion of 22nd Street was closed for a few hours Wednesday after a water main break early in the morning. D.C. Water officials released an advisory shortly after 2 a.m. Wednesday morning, alerting residents to a water main break on 22nd Street between F and H streets, stating that some customers may experience disruptions in their water service until repairs are complete. Officials confirmed early in the afternoon D.C. Water had repaired the water main break, restoring water service to Funger Hall, Duques Hall, Madison Hall, Gelman Library and 2145 G Street — the building that houses the GW Emergency Medical Response Group — that had been left without water, however in a new GW advisory issued shortly after 7 p.m., officials confirmed D.C. Water identified a new water main break on 22nd Street.
