    AIS monitoring class Friday

    SHELL LAKE - The Citizen Lake Monitoring Network will have Aquatic Invasive Species Monitoring at the Washburn County Services Building, 304 Second St., Shell Lake, on Friday, May 17, from 5 to 7 p.m.

    The trainer will be Lisa Burns, Washburn County Land & Water Department.

    The agenda includes:

    What lake you will monitor or are interested in monitoring.Why aquatic invasive species (AIS) are a problem.Species identification.What lakes have AIS.Looking at real examples.Why we monitor for AIS.Setting up a monitoring team.How and when to monitor.Distributing kits and discussing forms.
