Sibley Pair Accused Of Stealing Metal From Railroad
Dateline — A pair from Sibley has been arrested on theft charges after Sioux County authorities accused them of stealing from a railroad. According to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, 46-year-old David Case and 33-year-old Margaret Jakobson, both of Sibley, are accused of entering property owned by the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad and stealing metal. They were arrested on Tuesday, May 30th.

Sioux County Authorities Investigating Shooting Incident
Sioux Center, IA (KICD)– Authorities in Sioux County are investigating an incident reportedly involving the discharge of a firearm last week. The incident occurred around 6:30 Thursday evening on 371st Street, one mile north of Sioux Center, when a homeowner says a bullet came through a window and hit a cabinet in the home not causing any injuries. Several neighbors reported hearing a gunshot, but no one could identify a source.
Sheldon Farmers’ Market To Begin Monday
Sheldon, Iowa — If you can’t wait for fresh local produce your wait is almost over. The Sheldon Chamber Director Ashley Nordahl says the Sheldon Farmers’ Market will begin on Monday, June 5th, from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. She says it will be in the Historic Union Depot, just off Old Highway 60. Two Injured in Lyon County Plane Crash
Larchwood, IA (KICD)– Two people were reportedly hurt when their plane crashed early Monday afternoon in Lyon County. Authorities say the single engine aircraft crashed just south of the runway at Larchwood Airport shortly before 1:30 with one of the occupants being airlifted to Sioux Falls with serious but non-life threatening injuries. The second individual was taken to the hospital by ambulance with what are described as minor injuries.

Museum spokesman Larry Obermeyer says decade ago, workers lived on the grounds located near the Big Sioux River, and built 22 railroad structures, including a roundhouse and turntable.
