NHL sets draft lottery date, odds for teams, including Red Wings
The Detroit Red Wings have had no luck in the NHL draft lottery. If they win it this year, they’ll still be unlucky. That’s because a team that wins the lottery can move up no more than 10 spots based on the standings following a rules change the league began implementing in 2022. The Red Wings finished 18th overall, that’s 15th from the bottom. So, they can pick no higher than fifth.
