SHEBOYGAN — An interior design studio is moving into the space formerly occupied by The Lost Sheep Yarn Shop.

Angela Ondayko Design & Finds, 808 Pennsylvania Ave., will host a grand opening 2-6 p.m. April 13.

The studio will offer various interior design services for residential and light commercial spaces, like small offices, including space and room planning, home furnishing selection and architecture plan review.

The business can also assist with paint consultation, window treatments, wallcoverings and lighting.

“I was always really artistic and creative, and being an interior designer allows you to be artistic and creative but also help people,” owner and interior design consultant Angela Ondayko said. “I didn't always view it that way.”

“It makes a really big impact on people's lives, and how they go about their daily lives and how they find comfort in their homes, or if they need vibrance or respite or whatever the case may be,” she continued. "It's extremely rewarding."

Ondayko has more than 25 years of independent and diverse design experience across major cities like Chicago and Milwaukee. She worked with architects and builders, home interior design firms and Kohler brand Ann Sacks.

She said opening a brick-and-mortar store in Sheboygan is exciting and “a little emotional” because she’ll be helping people where she grew up.

“It’s my home,” she said.

In the new space, she wants to utilize widespread relationships with vendors and manufacturers to connect customers with resources they need for their projects. Ondayko also wants to provide a space for early career interior designers to work and learn as they navigate the industry. She said it was difficult starting out without a permanent space to meet with clients.

“It's not just for me, it's for them as well,” Ondayko said.
