DISTRICT HEIGHTS, Md. – On May 19, 2024, at approximately 1:45 am, officers responded to a shopping center parking lot in the 6400 block of Marlboro Pike. The victim, 26-year-old John Phipps of Waldorf, was located inside of a vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds. Phipps was pronounced deceased a short time later at a hospital. Now, a GoFundMe page has been created to help assist his family during this difficult time.
