Westmoreland happenings: Antiques and collectibles sale, art exhibit, Mother's Day breakfast, more
• Barbara L. Jones, retired chief curator of the Westmoreland Museum of American Art, will be the speaker at a free lecture at 7 p.m. May 13 at the Greensburg Art Center, 230 Todd School Road, Hempfield. Jones will give behind-the-scenes look at some of the many exhibits that were featured at the museum during her tenure. The public is welcome.
Update: Thunderstorms with pea-sized hail to hit Southwest Pa. Wednesday
The National Weather Service issued an updated report at 2:59 a.m. on Wednesday for strong thunderstorms until 3:45 a.m. for Westmoreland Ridges and Higher Elevations of Indiana as well as Westmoreland and Indiana counties. The storms are packing pea-sized hail (0.25 inches) and wind gusts of up to 50 mph.

PITTSBURGH — AAA is giving drivers in the Pittsburgh area a chance to replace their peeling license plates. Events will be held at the AAA branch offices at Robinson Town Centre (1760 Park Manor Blvd.) on May 15; Monroeville (2725 Mosside Blvd.) on May 29; Greensburg (5142 Route 30) on June 4; and Rochester (300 Adams St.) on June 5. Hours are 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
