SAYREVILLE, NJ - Of the five teams for Sayreville War Memorial High School that played this weekend, only two earned wins, with softball being East Brunswick on Saturday, April 20, and boys tennis beating Piscataway on Friday, April 19.

Sayreville beat East Brunswick in the Autism Awareness Challenge on Saturday, April 20. Josephine Vanore pitched six innings, earned six strikeouts, and allowed just one hit against East Brunswick. A total of seven players earned hits for Sayreville, most notably Vanore going 3 for 3 with two RBIs and two runs scored, as well as Mya Infante and Jillian Bourbeau both going 3 for 4. Other hits came from Caydence Barton, Rose Joseph, Hailey Kilpatrick, and Isabella Swanton.

They will play their next game at home on Monday, April 22, against Woodbridge.

Boys Tennis

Sayreville earned their second win of the season, defeating Piscataway on Friday, April 19. Bombers winners included Aadi Patel in 2nd singles, Dev Shah in 3rd singles, Yash Shah and Darryl Lumapas in 1st doubles, and Manav Jhala and Dhruv Patel in 2nd doubles.

They will play their next game at home on Monday, April 22, against Spotswood.

  • Girls Lacrosse lost to South Brunswick 15-8 (April 19) and lost to Edison 6-5 (April 20)
  • Boys Lacrosse lost to East Brunswick 2-1 (April 19)
  • Baseball lost to Somerville 5-0 (April 20)
