Stormy conditions associated with a warm front moved into the Savannah area Tuesday.

“A few of these thunderstorms could become strong enough to produce damaging wind gusts, and perhaps a tornado,” the National Weather Service’s Charleston office said in an advisory Tuesday morning.

The initial weather system is expected to impact the Savannah area through late morning.

More thunderstorms are possible Tuesday afternoon and evening.

"During this activity, damaging wind gusts will be the primary threat though small hail will also be possible,” the weather service said.

The chance of rain is 80% Tuesday, dropping to 40% overnight before skies clear Wednesday.

Tuesday’s temperatures are expected to reach the mid-80s, with highs reaching the high 80s Wednesday.

Another round of storms is possible for the weekend, according to the weather service.
