Men's Club donates to Hunt Hill
SARONA — Every year, the Rice Lake Area Men’s Club donates over 95% of the funds they raise to Barron County organizations whose mission is aligned with the club’s values, which are to support youth activities, services and education. Yearly, the club makes over 20 awards. On April 30, the Men’s Club donated $1,000 to Hunt Hill Audubon Sanctuary in Sarona. Northwood Tech students offering tour of home they built
Northwood Technical College's Construction and Cabinetmaking students and faculty invite the public to an open house Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at the house it has completed at 817 E. Barker St., Rice Lake. The students and faculty will be on site to provide tours, share insights, field questions and illuminate the project's process. Guests will have the chance to explore the home, appreciating its craftsmanship, layout and design up close. "We had six second-year students working on the project all school year — from rough framing to building the cabinets," said Scott Theilig, Construction and Cabinetmaking instructor. Man accused of attacking elderly man enters not guilty plea
A Rice Lake man who allegedly attacked and bit off a fingertip of a 73-year-old man on a city trail has pleaded not guilty to charges filed against him. Robert L. Morrison, 59, was charged on March 21 with two felonies: physical abuse of elder person — intentionally causing great bodily harm, and aggravated battery — intending great bodily harm, which is carrying an increased penalty because the victim was elderly. ...
