The Sand Canyon Trail’s last construction phase has begun, according to the Sand Canyon Homeowners Association (SCHOA).

Thanks to the two new bridges , their trail will now connect Lost Canyon to Placerita Canyon in a continuous fashion, ensuring that everyone can safely and happily enjoy it.

The City of Santa Clarita, which contracted with Wright Construction Engineering Corp, will assume responsibility for the project.

The planned upgrades are expected to occur from May 2024 through June 2024.

The hours of construction are set to run from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, which will cause intermittent impacts on traffic in the location of Bridge #1 (Sand Canyon at Condor Ridge) next week.

The southbound lane will be temporarily closed to facilitate the loading and unloading of materials and equipment. Flaggers will guide traffic around the closure, guaranteeing an available lane at all times.

Wright Construction Engineering Corp will do their best to reduce disturbances caused by dust, noise, traffic, and access. During the building process, the project area will be enclosed and clearly marked as a restricted area.

Several potential dangers within the project limits could harm people or their property, so Wright Construction Engineering Corp advises locals not to go near the enclosed construction area. People living in the region are being urged to exercise extra caution if they have children or pets that play on the Sand Canyon Trail.

The realization of this trail results from the determination and dedication of numerous Sand Canyon residents, such as Mike and Ruthann Levinso, Dave and Laura Hauser, Skye Ostrom, and Santa Clarita city council member Laurene Weste.
