Huntington Beach middle school student expelled over unpresented 'patriotism' speech
HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. - A Huntington Beach middle school student is facing what some would call extreme consequences for a speech that he didn't present. The family of Jimmy Heyward received notification that he and his sisters are not allowed to attend St. Bonaventure, a private school, in the fall.

Permit for alcohol tasting goes to planning commission
It’s been a while since the Stanton Planning Commission has been convened, but it will be back in business on Wednesday. Topping the agenda will be a public hearing on a request for a conditional use permit to allow the sale of alcohol with an ABC license along with an instructional tasting license for a proposed market to be located at 12736 Beach Blvd. (north of Stanford Avenue).
