Women Only Mutiny Mermaid Mixer Planned for Cane Bay Beach on May 19
The Mutiny Mermaid Mixer will make a splash at 8 a.m., Sunday, May 19, at Cane Bay Beach. This women-only relay event will feature a 400-meter swim and a 2-mile run. The fun part about the event is that each woman will register to complete the swim or the run, and the Mermaid Mixer Committee will randomly select each participant’s teammate just prior to the start of the event. The event focuses more on camaraderie and fellowship and less on competition.
Forfeit upheld, pending appeal
The S.C.H.S.L. has upheld the Summerville forfeit from last night’s baseball playoff game against Ashley Ridge. Summerville has filed an appeal, which will likely be heard by the League’s Executive Council on Monday. If the appeal is denied, Summerville can appeal to the League’s appellate panel. ROCK HILL – The Buccaneers officially claimed their spot in next week’s Big South Championships on Friday evening as they defeated Winthrop 4-3 in a rain shortened regular season finale. The Bucs finish the regular season with a 21-30 record to go along with a 12-12 mark in conference action.
