Raising the flag
Piney Point Lighthouse Museum education programming coordinator Sara Saunders, left, watches as Ethan Killen, 6, of Callaway raises and installs a flag on the small tent he has helped pitch. Children attending the museum’s May 11 event learned about bugs living along the Potomac River shoreline. The educational session was the theme of the museum’s “Second Saturday” program. The lighthouse museum will host another Second Saturday event in August, which will feature “shore combing for families/children and adults.”
