    HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Sandwich boys lacrosse wins heavyweight clash over Falmouth

    What better way to end the boys lacrosse regular season than a battle of two of the best teams, not only on Cape Cod, but also in the state, as Sandwich defeated Falmouth 9-6 on Friday.

    Daniel Oman (four goals, one assist), Avery Richardson (two goals, one assist), Cole Rodgers (one goal, one assist), Jack Connolly (two goals, one assist), Dylan McCabe (one assist), and Harrison Delman (one assist) led the offense for Sandwich (15-3). Shane Corcoran had 20 saves in goal, while Dylan Mahoney and Sullivan Gaffney also played well.

    Oliver Partridge scored twice, while Jackson Falcone, Cole Gaudet, and Charlie Hostetter each chipped in one goal for Falmouth (15-4).

    Boys Lacrosse

    Nauset 17, Martha’s Vineyard 5 : The Warriors ended the regular season 9-9, while the Vineyarders finished 3-12.

    Cape Cod Academy 19, Sturgis 7 : The Seahawks (10-2) finished the regular season on a five-game win streak as they beat the Storm (2-12).

    Bishop Stang 22, St. John Paul II 4 : The Lions (8-9) lost in their final road game of the regular season.

    Girls Lacrosse

    Cape Cod Academy 20, St. John Paul II 9 : The Seahawks (13-4) finished the regular season on a five-game win streak as they beat the Lions (13-6). Olivia Powers scored her 100th point of the season, and scored over 60 goals this season for Cape Cod Academy. The defense was led by Elle Murray, Colby Shipman, Livy Daigle, Scotia Crosby, and Emele Conlon.

    Softball

    Nauset 9, Sturgis 8 : Brynn Kew came in for relief for 1.1 innings, and allowed no hits or runs, and struck out four for the Warriors' (8-12) win over Sturgis (6-11). Cammie Rose had three hits (one RBI, one run scored), while Ellie Comier (one run), Molly Farrell (one run, one RBI), Lila Alger (two RBIs, one run), and Alex Mince (two runs) each collected two hits for Nauset. Julianna Grygent led the offense with three doubles and four RBIs for Sturgis.

    Monomoy 14, Carver 0 : The Sharks (19-1) finished the regular season on a 16 game win streak and have not lost since April 10. Alana Lojko pitched six innings, scattered one hit, gave up no runs, and struck out three for Monmoy. Kate Huse went 4-for-5 (one double, three runs scored, two RBIs), while Willa Leighton was 3-for-5 (one double, four RBIs, one run). Kinsey Lister (two runs, two RBIs, two walks, one double), Kiley Mawn (three RBIs, two runs. one walk), Hailey Lanciani (two runs), and Maya Jones (two runs, one walk) each recorded two hits.

    Wareham 10, Dennis-Yarmouth 3 : The Dolphins (8-12) dropped their last game of the season. Alexa Barboza led the way with two hits, Pasty Newell (one RBI), Savannah Azoff, Lily Leandre, and Alexa Buron each added one hit, and Brooke Chicoine chipped in two RBIs for D-Y.

    Nantucket 26, Mashpee 5 : The Whalers (picked) up a win over the Falcons (0-16).

    St. John Paul II 15, Martha’s Vineyard 2 : The Lions (2-18) have won two of their last three games after an 0-17 start as they beat the Vineyarders (6-11-1) for the second time this season.

    Baseball

    Sandwich 9, Marshfield 1: Zaren Graff and Jack Mulcahy combined on a three-hitter with five strikeouts each for the Blue Knights (13-6). Matt Sullivan (three-RBI double), Joe Coughlan and Matt Taylor each had two hits for Sandwich.

    Dennis-Yarmouth 9, Sturgis 5 : Ben Rondina drove in the go-ahead run in the sixth inning for the Dolphins (10-11) win over Sturgis (6-11). John Richard went 3-for-4 (one double, two RBIs, two runs scored), while Trey McPherson finished 2-for-5 with three runs for D-Y. Jake Bohlin pitched five innings for the win, while Alex Finn pitched two innings of relief.

    Monomoy 5, Bourne 1 : Chace Robbins pitched a complete game, scattered four hits, and struck out four for the Sharks (11-9) as they beat the Canalmen (3-16). Finn Hyora, Gareth Voss, and Reign Stephens (two RBIs) each had two hits for Monomoy.

    Atlantis Charter 13, Cape Tech 12 : The Crusaders (12-8) came up just short in their regular season finale. Jake Ambrosini had three hits, Jack Rhodes, Eric Edmond and Matt Riker each had two hits, and Mason Tomlinson added one triple for Cape Tech.

    St. John Paul II 4, Fairhaven 3: The Lions (16-5) rounded up their regular season on a six-game win streak, and have won 10 of their last 11 games. Brian Mancinelli pitched six innings, scattered six hits, allowed one earned run, walked one, and struck out five for the JPII win. Brady Meyer (two runs) and Tyler Ross (one RBI) each had two hits, while Colin Buckley (one run, one RBI, one walk), Max Ingraham (one run, one RBI, one walk), and Brandon Gomes each added one hit.

    Mashpee 23, Holbrook 1: The Falcons (8-12) snapped a three-game slide in their last game of the regular season.

    New Bedford 9, Falmouth 5 : The Clippers (9-11) lost in their regular season finale. Tre'Chaun Days (two runs scored) and Max Inman (three RBIs, one double) each had two hits for Falmouth.
