WOMAN CHARGED WITH DRUNK DRIVING AFTER CRASH BADLY INJURES OFF-DUTY BARNSTABLE POLICE SERGEANT
WEST BARNSTABLE, Massachusetts – According to reports filed in Barnstable District Court, on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at 10:42 p.m., Barnstable Police patrol officers responded to the intersection of Oak Street and the Service Road for a report of a motor vehicle crash with injuries. Upon arrival, officers found one of their colleagues, a Barnstable Police sergeant, suffering injuries from the crash. The police sergeant had been traveling east along the Service Road on his way to Barnstable Police Headquarters for his Midnight to 8:00 a.m. shift as a member of the BPD’s patrol division.

BROCKTON – A Massachusetts woman killed in a motor vehicle crash earlier this week is being remembered. According to Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz, at approximately 10:30 a.m. Monday morning, Marshfield Police and Fire responded to Plain Street at Lady Slipper Lane for a report of a two-vehicle crash involving a Marshfield Police vehicle. Upon arrival, first responders located the female operator of a red Subaru Forrester with injuries. She was transported to South Shore Hospital where she was pronounced deceased. She has been identified as Michelle Freestone, 79, of Marshfield. The Marshfield Police officer driving the other motor vehicle was not injured.
